One year down, eternity to go

HEYYYYY!!! Yes, it has been two months since i've blogged. I am not the best "blogger" if you can't tell. So, I wanted to blog our Park City trip that Ricky and I went on this last weekend for our ONE YEAR anniversary! We had sooooo much fun. We stayed at the Park City Peaks Hotel and ate at yummy restaurants and just played around in park city. We ate at El Chubasco mexican restaurant and it was delicious. We read some great reviews about it online and we were impressed. We also strolled down main street in Park City and went to several stores. We found a store that sold $2500 cowgirl boots. They were adorable but a little out of my price range lol We also went to Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory and got hot chocolate and other yummy goodies. And I got my wedding ring polished for free at this jewelry store!

I LOVE being married. This past year with Ricky has been so much fun. It has been awesome getting to know my husband better. I can't wait for these coming years with him. We have so much yet to experience together:) And I just love having a best friend around all the time. I am also grateful for his patience with me sometimes. i love him!:D

Here are some pictures of the fun we had in Park City...

  He surprised me with roses:)

A day at the fair...

We went to the Utah State Fair last Saturday. We had a really good time! We spent the morning at the fair, went and ate some Cafe Rio (of course) and headed back to the fair for the Rodeo.  We LOVE rodeos. One of the bull riders actually got his hand caught trying to get off of the bull and the bull was stepping all over him.  I actually let out a little scream when it was happening.  I kept thinking of the movie 8 seconds and how scary bull riding can be! We also got to see some fun animals at the fair, including these cool looking chickens (I have pictures below). It was a great day!!

This was so cute.. he was so fluffy and his little beak was sticking out :)

a BIG turkey (I think)... we wanted to show a comparison with Ricky

 Emu

Ricky was loving these animals :)

Ricky is almost as tall as a male black bear! haha

Just a couple of cute bear cubs :)

This won some kind of prize.  The roof is made of cinnamon toast crunch and the logs are pretzels.

This was really impressive. All hand made and pieced together.  I wish the picture was more up close to show the details...

Hand carved very detailed moose antlers.

A 700 pound sweet cream butter cow sculpture. It was pretty cool!

Skydiver into the rodeo grounds.

Here are some fun videos we took at the fair.

KangaROO!

This is a 15 year old horse.  It is a pretty smart!  The rodeo clown was asking it questions and it was nodding its head yes or no. In this video the clown is making it dance. So funny!

Finally another post! We've had a fun, interesting last couple of weeks! We finally got to go on our long waited for Lake Powell trip.  It was so much fun. This year we had a ski boat, two wave runners, and two giant tubes. Here are a few pictures of the fun we had...

On the drive up :) gotta love Ricky's face

Dreamy :) We'll see you again next year!

While we were in Powell, we received some sad news about Ricky's grandparents.  They were killed in a head on collision driving through Devil's canyon near Blanding, UT.  They were hit by a Penske moving truck.  Ricky's grandma, Erva was 84 and his grandpa, Johnny was 89 or 90 years old. It was very tragic. Luckily, we were able to attend the funeral last weekend.  It was wonderful.  It was very sad but at the same time I see it as a blessing that they left this Earth together. Sadly, I was never able to meet them. But from the sounds of it they were wonderful people and sweet sweet grandparents.

My externship...
It is going very well.  I am over half way done today!! It is going by pretty fast. I am getting a lot of experience. I am actually surprised how much I am enjoying it.  I have two weeks left to go...

Ricky and I are enjoying married life to the max.  I am so excited I get to spend my life with such a great person! We may be moving out of our apartment soon.. our contract is up in October and we want to upgrade to a two bedroom. We are looking around for now but aren't completely sure of the plans yet.

Sleepy husband syndrome

heyo! So Ricky works a lot, as you all probably know.  He is such an awesome worker.  Last week his work gave him a raise!! I am so proud of him.. he's great.  But he has a bad case of the sleepies.  He is always tired which is a bummer but we're grateful that he has such a great job so it all evens out :)

Here are some pictures of our new living room.  We just got the couch last week and we love it.. It is pretty comfy and fits great in our little place.  And we bought the tables off ksl for a good deal :)

As for my externship hunt, no luck quite yet :( I'm going to keep looking around.  Pediatricians offices are really busy this time of year so they don't have the time to train on a new extern. At least that is what they keep telling me.  But i'm going to keep looking!

Wish me luck! :)
